Bridport go top!
Bridport Chess Club went top of the Dorset County League Division 2, with a fantastic performance away at Weymouth B, winning three and a half points to half a point. Now halfway through the season, Bridport have not yet lost a match, and with confidence running high, there were convincing wins for Robert Wright, Colin Winch and Malcolm Steevens and a draw for captain Tony Brake, making it a great night of chess for the Bridport team.
The team feel that they deserve to be top, the captain said "The team have played some excellent chess this season, out of the four matches we've played I think we have only lost two of the 16 games.
If we can continue this great run of form 'til the end of the season there's no reason why we can't win the league this year."
Match result:
Weymouth B vs. Bridport

BCC Members will be popping down during the day, either to play each other or passers by, with any potential new members being collared!
